What are the types of batteries used in the market?

Silver calcium batteries are more resistant and need less maintenance but need a higher charging voltage. Enhanced flooded batteries are generally resistant to water and dirt, wet cell batteries are more resistant and need less maintenance but need a higher charging voltage.

Gel cell or dry cell batteries were designed as a no-spill flooded battery. Absorbent glass mat batteries are dry cell batteries which are ideal for some charging and higher voltages.

What are batteries made of?

Enhanced flooded batteries are suitable for electric and longer charging. Other materials such as aluminum, plastic, or nickel and silver batteries may be used.

Different batteries available are the ones that need some filling and more overall maintenance. Lithium-ion batteries are cheaper but need regular filling and more overall maintenance. The longer lifespan of these batteries is less improvement over wet cell batteries, but need a higher charging voltage.
