About products and suppliers

A stainless steel tube is a hollow pipe made from stainless steel. Stainless steel, strong and anticorrosive, is a type of steel that has less possibility of getting rust in use. It can be molded into a seamless stainless steel tube. On the one hand, in case of needing shorter tubes, the stainless steel tube cutter will be a useful tool. On the other hand, in the case of joining tubes together, there are stainless steel tube fittings, which come in all shapes and sizes to meet various needs.

What materials is a stainless steel tube made from?

A stainless steel, as its name suggests, is made from stainless steel. The main material of stainless steel is iron. It is easy to get rusting over time under the influence of water and oxygen. Thanks to that fact, different substances will be added to iron during processing, such as carbon, chromium and nickel. Chromium is a hard gray metal. It is usually used to cover surfaces of other metals so as to prevent them from getting rust. Nikel, being silver-white, is widely used in making different types of steel. They help to improve the anticorrosive ability of actual goods.

In addition, stainless steel tubes can be sorted into different types according to different proportions of carbon, chromium, nickel and other substances in them. There is the 304 stainless steel tube and the 316 stainless steel tube. 304 stainless steel is common in practice. It has good performance in resisting acid, alkali, heat and pressure. Besides, compared with 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel has better performance. The reason lies in a rare chemical element called molybdenum in the 316 stainless steel. Having a melting point that is over 2000 degrees Celsius, molybdenum contributes to better stability and strength of stainless steel. Furthermore, due to different materials, the price of the 316 stainless steel tube is relatively higher than the price of the 304 stainless steel tube.

The application of stainless steel tubes

Stainless steel tubes feature their considerable resistance to abrasion and corrosion as well as their unique strength. Therefore, they are one of the favorites in heavy industries, including the electrical industry, the chemical industry and the coal industry. Small, short stainless steel tubes can be used in household furniture. For example, fix stainless steel tubes in a wardrobe, and they serve as stable bars for hanging clothes. Also, they can be used to make stair railings for household safety.
