What is a quadricycle car?

A quadricycle car is a four-wheeled microcar used in Europe and the rest of the world. Because they are so small, quadricycle cars can be designed to follow less stringent rules and requirements as compared to regular cars. They are limited when it comes to weight, speed, and engine power.

Variations of quadricycle cars

Ford quadricycles was the first vehicle developed by Henry Ford. It was a motorized quadricycle with a gas-powered engine and four bicycle wheels. Modern quadricycles come in many different powering options, including pedal-assist electric quadricycles and enclosed quadricycles. Enclosed quadricycles help keep the passengers or goods being transported away from direct sunlight or precipitation like snow, rain, or dew. They are ideal for carrying sensitive, light cargo like newspapers, mail, flowers, and more. Enclosed quadricycles can only carry one or two people. There are two main types of quadricycle cars. A light quadricycle car is also called an L6e. Its unladen mass should not be more than 425kg. This, however, does not include the mass of the battery for electric quadricycle cars.

The maximum design speed for light quadricycle cars should not be more than 45 km/hr, the maximum net power is not more than 6kW for other internal combustion engines like diesel engines. Its maximum continuous rated power should also not exceed 6kW. Heavy quadricycles are also called L7es. Its unladen mass should not be more than 450kgs, and this does not include the mass of the battery for electric quadricycles cars. If the quadricycle car is intended for carrying goods, the maximum total weight should not be more than 600kgs. Heavy quadricycle cars' maximum net engine power should not be more than 15kW. Its design payload should not be more than 200kgs. You can buy used quadricycles for sale at cheaper prices if you are on a budget.
