About products and suppliers

A game machine, also known as an “arcade cabinet,” is an entertainment machine often placed in public places, arcades, restaurants, and bars. The games featured usually require skill, such as quick thinking, or agility, such as hand-eye coordination. Games of chance, on the other hand, typically fall into the separate category of gambling machines, which often reward the player with money. This category includes the pachinko machine, which provides a low-stake form of gambling.

In this game, players try to place a key in a lock containing prizes.

Electro-mechanical games operate via a combination of electronic circuitry and mechanical action. These games were featured in entertainment arcades of the 40s through the 70s, later overshadowed by the popularity of video games. This category features the skee ball machine, which involves rolling a ball up an inclined lane ending with a ramp, which jettisons the ball toward three “bullseye rings.” The pinball machine, in which a ball is sprung forth within a specially designed cabinet. In its course, the ball hits various obstacles to gain points or, conversely, falls into one of the holes to bring the came to an end. Finally, the electro-mechanical game known as a crane machine allows players to receive prizes, usually stuffed animals, with a cabinet. The player activates a claw via a joystick, which descends to open and close when prompted by a button. If aimed correctly, the claw clasps over a stuffed animal, retrieving it from the cabinet.
