About products and suppliers

Demin fabric, usually known as jeans fabric, is a strong cotton cloth made with a twill weave in a diagonal pattern. There are many different types of demin fabric available including stretch denim, which has elastic woven in, acid washed, which has been treated with chlorine to give it a marbled design, and pre-distressed. Raw denim is a denim fabric that has not undergone a wash. It is rough to the touch.

Denim fabric history

Modern denim was first produced in Nimes, France in the 17th century, though its predecessor was created in India centuries before. It was in 1860, with Levi Strauss & Co. that denim became popularized. It is now most well-known as the fabric for blue jeans. Since then, denim fabric has remained one of the most popular fabrics around the world to this day.

What is denim fabric made of?

Denim material is a twill cloth that is made of two cotton yarns that have been woven together. The yarn is usually dyed indigo on one side, left white on the other. It can be made in other colors, however. White denim fabric wholesale and pink denim fabric, for example, are available.

What can denim fabric be used for?

Depending on the wholesale denim fabric supplier, there can be different types of denim fabric and, therefore, different uses. Denim fabric has been used to create garments and objects for centuries. Pants are the most common use case for denim fabric. Blue jeans have been one of the most popular clothing items around the world for around 150 years.
