About products and suppliers

Single and bulk epoxy resins are used in industrial and domestic environments to hold materials firmly together. Bulk resin epoxy mostly comprises of four ingredients – a hardener, a plasticizer, an accelerator and the monomeric resin itself. Although the manufacturer provides standard quantity formulation, the hardness and flexibility of the bulk epoxy glue can be varied by increasing or decreasing the number of individual components.

Why is Epoxy Resin so Toxic?

Bulk casting resin epoxy that contains volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are classified as toxic due to the heat they give off during the curing process. The heat released by the bulk clear epoxy resin, lowers the boiling point of the VOCs, causing them to release toxic vapours and fumes. However, nontoxic or VOC-free resins like craft resins do not contain VOCs are not toxic and are suitable for home use.

What are the Advantages of Epoxy Resins?

Epoxies have high corrosion resistance and are less affected by water and heat compared to other polymeric matrices. This is why there are several applications like bulk epoxy resin for river tables and bulk epoxy floor coatings. They are more capable of binding than most other glues. They have high mechanical properties, a wide range of material characteristics, easy processing, low shrinkage during cure and excellent adhesion to all types of fibers.

What are the Disadvantages of Epoxy Resins?

Typically, wholesale clear epoxy resins cost much more and have longer curing time and handling difficulties than their counterparts do. If not applied cautiously, it could also be harmful to the user if it is exposed to their skin or they inhale toxic fumes released by the epoxy resin. With proper precautions, bulk wholesale epoxy resins are generally safe to use.

Do Epoxy Resin Break Easily?

Under normal conditions, fully cured resin does not break easily. Most times, bulk epoxy casting resin does not break at all without something not already going wrong first like intentionally trying to destroy it.
