About products and suppliers

A bubble tea cup is a specialized container designed for serving bubble tea, also known as boba tea or pearl milk tea. Bubble tea is a popular liquid refreshment originating from Taiwan and typically includes tea, milk, sugar, and chewy tapioca pearls. The cup used for bubble tea is distinctive and often comes with a wide straw due to the larger size of the tapioca pearls.

Features and Components of a Bubble Tea Cup

Boba cups are generally larger than standard drink cups to accommodate the beverage volume and tapioca pearls. They often have a wider opening for ease of drinking with a straw. These cups are commonly made of plastic or similar durable materials to withstand the weight of the drink and the thickness of the straw. Some may also be made of eco-friendly materials. Many bubble tea cups are transparent, letting customers to see the layers of the drinks. This can be visually pleasing to see. Bubble tea cups and lids typically come with a fitted lid to prevent spills and splashes, especially when the drink is being transported. The lid often has an opening for inserting a straw.

Bubble tea cups and straws are accompanied by a wide straw, usually made of plastic, allowing for easy suction of the tapioca pearls and the liquid. The straw must be wide enough for the pearls to pass through. Some cups have volume markings on the side, indicating the amount of liquid that can be poured into the cup. This is especially useful for preparing consistent beverages. Some custom bubble tea cups feature designs, logos, or branding from the tea shop or establishment. The customization can vary, and cups may come in different colors. Many of these cups are designed for single use and are disposable boba cups, while others may be reusable and made from materials suitable for washing and multiple uses. Since bubble tea is often served cold or with ice, the cups are not necessarily designed for hot beverages. However, they should be heat-resistant enough to handle the preparation process.

Cleaning a Bubble Tea Cup

For reusable boba cups, pour out any remaining liquid or ice from the cup. Dispose of any leftover tapioca pearls or other ingredients properly. Thoroughly rinse the cup with warm water to remove any residue. Hold the cup upside down to allow water to flow through the straw hole and clean the interior. Fill the bubble tea cup with warm water, then a small amount of mild dish soap should be added. Swirl the soapy water around to create suds. Wipe down the exterior of the cup with the soapy water and the brush or sponge. This helps remove any spills, stains, or sticky residue.

If the cup comes with a lid, clean it with soapy water as well. Pay attention to any crevices or areas where liquid may have gathered. If the cup has a reusable straw, use a straw brush to clean the inside thoroughly. Run the brush through the straw several times to ensure it's free of any remnants. Thoroughly rinse the cup, lid, and straw (if applicable) with warm water to remove any soap residue. Allow the cup, lid, and straw to air dry completely. Place them upside down on a clean, dry surface to ensure proper drying. Keep the lid slightly ajar for air circulation.
