The Organic Lapsang Black Tea with the smoke aroma, which is the most popular and familiar Lapsang tea in Tongmu Village, is smoked over red pine (horsetail pine), giving it the distinct rich smoked aroma and flavor. The tea leaves are first withered over pine root fires, then panfried, rolled and oxidized, and are finally placed in bamboo baskets and hung on wooden racks over smoking pinewood fires to dry and absorb the smoke. This results in a powerfully smoky aroma coupled with a smooth taste. The tea has a light body, with a smooth crisp character and a very prominent, heady aroma of a pine wood fire.
