What is Thermoforming?

Thermoforming is a plastic molding technique that results in a variety of highly usable products. During this manufacturing process, thin plastic sheets are heated in order to make them easy to manipulate. Once a sheet reaches a pliable temperature, it is formed over a male or female mold. After being cooled to a finished shape, the end product is trimmed in order to increase its usability. Vacuum forming uses heat and pressure to draw plastic sheets into its final configuration. Once a sheet is heated and placed over a mold, a vacuum is used to manipulate it into its desired shape.

Thermoforming is a manufacturing process where a plastic sheet is heated to a pliable forming temperature, formed to a specific shape in a mold, and trimmed to create a usable product. The sheet, or "film" when referring to thinner gauges and certain material types, is heated in an oven to a high-enough temperature that it can be stretched into or onto a mold and cooled to a finished shape.

In its simplest form, a small tabletop or lab size machine can be used to heat small cut sections of plastic sheet and stretch it over a mold using vacuum. This method is often used for sample and prototype parts. In complex and high-volume applications, very large production machines are utilized to heat and form the plastic sheet and trim the formed parts from the sheet in a continuous high-speed process, and can produce many thousands of finished parts per hour depending on the machine and mold size and the size of the parts being formed.

Thermoforming differs from injection molding, blow molding, rotational molding, and other forms of processing plastics. Thin-gauge thermoforming is primarily the manufacture of disposable cups, containers, lids, trays, blisters, clamshells, and other products for the food, medical, and general retail industries. Thick-gauge thermoforming includes parts as diverse as vehicle door and dash panels, refrigerator liners, utility vehicle beds, and plastic pallets.

Most thermoforming companies recycle their scrap and waste plastic, either by compressing in a baling machine or by feeding into a granulator (grinder) and producing ground flake, for sale to reprocessing companies or re-use in their own facility. Frequently, scrap and waste plastic from the thermoforming process is converted back into extruded sheet for forming again.

We are factory, as well as a manufacturer. All goods will be delivered to you directly from our factory.

Q: How can I get a quotation?
Well, a best quotation based on the details as follows in your inquiry:

6. Other requirements, such as Packing, Shipping and so on.

Q: What about the lead time for your mass production?
Honestly speaking, it depends on your order quantity, We will start to make when the deposite received. Usually it is 10-30 days after the sample confirmed.

Q: What shipping method can I choose? How about the shipping time?
By air: it will take 5-7 workdays;  By sea: it will take 10-30 days.

Q: What is your sample policy?
As a custom OEM service factory, We can only provide samples with extra charge, but if you consider that business can be materialized after receipt of our sample, We will deduct the costs of the sample from your quotation in mass production subsequently.

Q: How do you pack the goods?
We have 15 years experience on export, finished products will be carefully handled by three steps:
1: Wrapped with packing paper;
2: Packaged with PE foam;
3: Put in an appropriate carton box or wooden boxes and be fixed firmly.

Q: What is the Surface finishing of your products?

Q: How can I know the status of my order?
We will keep you closely informed about the process of the production, to ensure all issues are resolved prior to the delivery of goods. QC certificate and image of the products will reach you by E-mail if required. If everything goes smooth,We shall send out the goods immediately, meanwhile you will get the tracking number right away.

How to order?

1) Clients send inquiry to us and provide 3D drawings or sufficient information (length x width x height x thickness, quantity, material, color etc.)

2) We offer quotation in time.
3) Once the price confirmed, we prepare PI & contract for you.
4) After PI confirmed, the customer transfers 50% deposit to us. As a factory, we prepare tooling.
5) We start to make tooling after receiving the deposit.
6) We produce a sample and send to customer for confirmation.
7) We arrange mass production after your approval of the samples. If any modification or changes requested by client, we will modify the mould accordingly, re-make samples and send to client for approval again till final confirmation.
8) Packing & delivery preparation. On the other hand clients transfer balance 50% payment.
9) On-time delivery after balance payment received.
10) B/L & other related documents will be sent to customers once available.
